Tuk-U-2 Daily Blog
From the 19th to the 30th of August, myself and my mate, Ben, will compete in the Lanka Challenge. The Lanka Challenge is a challenge around Sri-Lanka in tuk-tuks. The challenge has approximately 24 teams from across the world competing and we plan on being number one at the end of it all.
Not only does the challenge promote tourism in Sri-Lanka, it also serves as a charity event. A percentage of the money from the entry-fees will go towards charities of the event organiser's choice.
Furthermore, each team chooses a charity of its choice and raises money for said charity as well. Our team has decided on the Make-A-Difference Foundation (or MAD for short). "The primary goal of MAD is to identify academically talented South African learners from less fortunate backgrounds and support their education and life skills development up until the point at which they are ready to enter the job market."
Whilst we intend on having a great adventure and lots of fun, we also intend on supporting the MAD Foundation to the fullest.
